If you haven’t been under a rock, you would know that the Indian Govt. recently banned 59 Chinese applications in response to the growing tension between the two countries. Google and Apple had already removed all these applications from their respective app stores. One of the applications among those banned was Xiaomi’s Mi Community, and it’s finally respecting the Government’s directive 2 weeks too late.

On its forum, in an official statement shared, Xiaomi has temporarily disabled the website and Mi Community app in India. The website is presently unreachable, and if you already have the application downloaded, the home page will load up. Still, you won’t be capable of reading any of the community posts. You will view a ‘web page not available’ error within the application.

The Mi Community website, as reported by GizmoChina, will lead you to the formal notice. But, we didn’t view the notice in our case. The site is just unreachable for us. You can, however, check out Xiaomi’s official report in the picture below.

As you can see above, Xiaomi finds adhering to the orders, processes, and protocols needed by the experts” its corporate responsibility. It plans to meet government authorities to present a description. Mi Community adheres to the most stringent security and data privacy requirements under Indian law. The security and privacy of our Mi Fans are of utmost importance to us,” adds the company.

For those unaware, the Mi Community application is a forum where Xiaomi smartphone users can discuss post suggestions, new features, and report bugs. It is also where the smartphone maker makes announcements related to patches, software updates, and more. You can move to XDA Forums (dedicated to your devices) for any instant help required with your smartphone.
