Set a Custom Status in Google Chat:-
For the uninitiated, Google Chat currently allows you to set your status as Do not disturb to mute notifications and Automatic based on activity. With the new extension, you can set the status message you want. To set custom status in Gmail, You have to click on the status indicator pill and Select “Add a status”.
When you are here, you will see a predefined set of statuses, including Be right back, Commuting, Out sick, and Vacationing. You can either pick one of these statuses or you can set your own from the text box present above.
If you decide to set a custom status, all you have to do is add the text, optionally choose an emoji that reflects your mood, and set the expiry time for the status. The default set of status expiry durations include 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, end of the day or week. You can customize the time to your preference and click “Done” to save all the changes.
You can follow the same actions to set custom chat status for Google Chat within Gmail web. Also said, do note that you will require to enable the new Google Chat experience from Gmail settings here to use Google Chat within the email client. Any questions, you can free to message us.
